As a resident of the greater New Orleans area, Kailei has been surrounded by art and culture her entire life. She started doing theatre when she was seven years old; her debut role on the stage was in The Jungle Book Jr! She is a proud, mixed woman of color. Her Black and Hawaiian heritage is a big part of her identity and it often connects her to my work. Kailei has her BFA in Acting from Illinois Wesleyan University.

She is currently in the midst of a second year as a Resident Actor with Charleston Stage Company where she recently had the privilege of taking on the role of Dorothy Gale in 'The Wizard of Oz' through September. Later in Charleston Stage's season you can see Kailei reprise her role in 'A Christmas Carol' and perform in 'Les Miserables' in the ensemble and Eponine Understudy.

Fun Fact!

Kailei's most prized possession is an old record of her great grandmother singing the song, “Just in Time” at her own show in Las Vegas. She must have inherited a love for performing from her <3.
