ABOUT ME

Thanks for stopping by!  As a proud resident of the greater New Orleans area, I have been surrounded by tons of art and culture my entire life. I started doing theatre when I was seven years old. My debut role on the stage was a monkey in The Jungle Book Jr! I then went on to attend New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), where I completed the musical theatre program in high school. I am a proud, mixed woman of color. My Black and Hawaiian heritage is a big part of my identity and it often connects me to my work.  My most prized possession is an old record of my great grandmother singing the song, “Just in Time” at her own show in Las Vegas. I must have inherited a love for performing from her <3.

.

As an artist, I value authenticity and inclusion. The foundational skills of acting are so important to my process. I often find myself returning to lessons I learned in my foundational acting class reading about Uta Hagen and Stella Adler. At my university, I am a part of Shringara Theatre Company, a multicultural theatre student organization on our campus. I find it so fulfilling to tell stories that often go untold for marginalized communities on our campus. Theatre is story telling. And, we get to decide whose story we tell. I see the responsibility we hold as an artist and as a woman of color, I will always advocate for myself and the members of my community.

Hey, y'all!
